About Us
The Wellington Red Hackle is Wellington City’s premier pipe band. It operates four competing bands, one in Grade 3, one in Grade 4A and one in Grade 4B, as well as a juvenile band.
Mission
The Band's purpose is to promote Scottish music and tradition and to provide tuition to any member of the community who wants to learn how to play the bagpipes or the pipe band drums.

The Band
We are a competing pipe band based in Tawa, just a few kilometres north of Wellington who practise out of the Band Hall at the Redwood Train Station, Tawa Tuesday and Thursday nights.
The band is an incorporated society and registered charity.
